How does the movie theatre work in general?
You can view the seperate movie clips for a movie by clicking on the movie rack item (the large picture). A new page will open and show you the clips from that movie that are available. Download any movie clip file from the site to your computers hard drive by right clicking on the yellow 'Download File' button and selecting 'Save Target As'. When you try to open the movie it will ask you for a User Name and Password to put in on the first play.

Is it easy to use the Movie Theatre?
Simple. Just buy tokens where you see a 'Buy Tokens' button. You select a Username and Passord. Right click and download the movie to your hard drive (Save to Desktop if you are unsure where to file the movie). Double cick to open the movie file and you will be prompted for your Username and Password. After you enter it once, you can watch the movie forever without being prompted for your Username and Password.
Q) Do I own the movies forever?
A) Yes. You actually own the license for the movie and it is retained by Windows Media Viewer on your system and also on the ECSuite/DRM server in case your file is destroyed. You only have to enter your Username and Password the first time you open the clip. If you need the clip license again you can easily resore it from the server (location for restore is noted further on in this document).
You can purchase Tokens where you see the 'Buy Tokens' button. These buttons are in the movie rack page, the page where all the clips are displayed or above the User Name and Password when you first try to play the movie. You pick your own User Name and Password.
Q) What happens if my computer crashes and wipes out all of my files?
A) We highly recommend that you Back Up licenses on a CD or external hard drive. You can do this by starting Windows Media Player. Then click on Tools>License Management>Backup Licenses. When you are ready to restore them, you click on Tools>License Management>Restore.
Note that with Windows Media Player 11 or a later version, MIcrosoft has removed the backup feature.

Q) Can I copy the clips to a DVD, to a CD, or trade them with a friend?
A) No. The clips will only play on your computer. You cannot burn them to a DVD, copy them to a CD, move them to another computer, post them on the Internet, or trade them to a friend.
Q) I tried to play the clips, it took the tokens, and gave me an error message!
A) In many cases, you just need to reinstall Windows Media Player. Microsoft is constantly updating codecs and DRM components. Reinstalling will reset your security settings, update your codecs, and load and new DRM updates.
if you are receiving a 'Script' error and using Internet Explorer 7, please go to Tools | Options | Security and make sure you slider is set to 'Medium'. If it still does not work, send an email to Webmaster and we will help you as soon as possible. When you email, please tell us what OS you are using, what error message you are getting, and what clips you are trying to view.
You can also run the Compatibility Test Tool and click 'Send Report' after your finish. We will receive the results via email and be better able to assist you.

Errors with the DRM system are due to security, firewall or communications issues on the local workstation. These errors prevent communication with the license server or result in problems with Windows Media Viewer (which is closely tied to Internet Explorer).
Will the movie clips play on a Macintosh?
No. The clips are in Windows Media Viewer. You can watch them on a Windows based machine but cannot move them from the machine as they are licensed.
Can I copy the clips to a DVD, to a CD, or trade them with a friend?
No. The clips will only play on your computer. You cannot burn them to a DVD, copy them to a CD, move them to another computer, post them on the Internet, or trade them to a friend.
Hey! I tried to play the clips, it took the tokens, and gave me an error message!
In 90% of all cases, you just need to reinstall

Try going to the Windows Media Player page and loading. If it still does not work, send email to Webmaster@AmbersDungeon.com and we will see what we can do. When you email us, please tell us what OS you are using, what error message you are getting, and what clips you are trying to view.
What do I need to be able to view the clips?
You will need the latest version of Windows Media Player, which you can get for free here. You will need to be running a Windows based system such as Windows XP, Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows NT. This will not work on MAC OSX or OS9.
* The video clips can only be viewed on a single computer. You cannot copy them, move them, email them, or transfer them to a CD.
